Bandwidth:

It is the amount of data that is transferred between a website and its users for a specific period. It is measured in gigabytes (GB) per month.

SSD (Solid State Drive):

SSD is a type of storage technology that uses microchips to store data. It provides faster data access and improved website performance compared to traditional HDD (Hard Disk Drive) storage.

Uptime:

Uptime represents the percentage of time a web hosting server remains operational and accessible to users. Higher uptime percentages indicate better reliability.

Downtime:

Downtime is the opposite of uptime and refers to the period when a web hosting server is not operational or accessible to users.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and SFTP:

FTP and SFTP is a standard network protocol file transfer between a computer and a server. For multiple transfers, FTP is the best option instead of moving hundreds of files solely.  

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificate:

An SSL certificate encrypts data transmitted between a website and its users, ensuring secure and private communication. It is essential for protecting sensitive information like login credentials and credit card details.

Control Panel:

A control panel is a web-based interface provided by web hosting companies to manage various aspects of a website, such as file management, database administration, email settings, etc.

Backups:

Backups are copies of website data and files that are stored to protect against data loss. Regular backups are essential for disaster recovery and data restoration in case of emergencies.

These are some fundamental web hosting terms that you may come across when dealing with website hosting services. Understanding these terms can help you to make informed decisions and manage your website effectively.
