Ahead, the website also includes many technical errors like broken links, codes, damaged links, or anything that needs to affix to make the proper working of the website.
An error-free website is like the icing on the cake for any food lover or I can say for any website owner. Moreover, fixing the error is the main concern of any website owner but before fixing it’s mandatory to understand the types of website errors. Here, you’ll learn the different types of website errors and this will help you to overcome the issues in a short span of time.
1. Error 404 Page Not Found
In the list, we have a very famous error which is Error 404 Page Not Found. If you’re working with static HTML pages then this error indicates that you’ve not designed the page that you’re trying to view. Hence, most developers or users opt for programming languages like PHP to develop the website.
This creates usage of server – based software that redirects to the actual page. However, if the user tries to search that page, due to non – existence of that page you’ll face this error. You can solve this error in your public directory where all files exist.
2. Error 401 Forbidden
This error includes permissions as every operating system has a different way of managing the files. If a user is not able to access these files then the operating system will show Error 401 Forbidden. It goes well with different attributes such as updating the file, deleting the file, and moving it.
Similarly, Linux has a robust file permission system, which rarely happens in the web development background.
When you’re working with PHP and other dynamic software development tools, you are able to do the coding of files based on your access methods.
3. Error 400 Bad Request
This error is very comprehensive and sometimes it becomes tough to sort out immediately. It is related to the browser caching system and the actual website issue.
Whenever you search for the homepage then your browser stores a copy of that webpage on your computer. However, it becomes easy to access those copies of the webpage later without sending a request.
Data will get updated on the server if the browser has not updated the same. Then this will indicate the huge difference between the request and the response. The server will identify the change webpage and this results in Error 400 Bad Request.
4. Error 408 Request Timeout
This error indicates that the server is informing us to shut down the unused connection. A server sends the “close” connection to the header field in the response. This means that the server has decided to close the connection rather than continuously waiting.
5. Error 503 Service Unavailable
One of the most hectic problems that can be happened with your website is getting attacked by a DDOS or denial of service and also due to fewer resources or service overflow. This takes place when anyone attacks your server with traffic and also eliminates the browsing of the server.
6. Error 504 Bad Gateway
This error takes place when the web server acts like a proxy and gateway and that server is not getting a response in time from the upstream server which is needed to complete the request.
7. Error 500 Internal Server Error
The most toughest and generic type of error is the 500 Internal Server Error. It can be related to anything and it includes sending the browser a message that indicates the website is encountering a sudden error with the message “please try it later”. However, it’s the most irritating error message that webmasters and users receive. However, we now have a wealth of resources to solve problems like these.
8. Error 301 Moved Permanently
This error indicates that the requested resource has fully moved to the given URL by the location headers. With this browser and search engines also get updated to new URLs.
9. Error 302 Found
The Error 302 Found redirect code tells that the resources requested have been temporarily moved to the URL set by the location header. A browser has updated its pages but search engines are not able to crawl the links of the resources. In SEO terms, it’s said that the link – juice is not sent to the new URL. Due to some technical reason, it’s suggested to set 302 code only as a response for GET or HEAD methods and to use 307 Temporary Redirect instead, as the method change is explicitly prohibited in that case.
10. Error 307 Temporary Redirect
This 307 Temporary Redirect status code informs that the resources requested have been temporarily moved to the URL given by the Location headers. Here, the method and body of the original request are reused to get redirected the process.
In such a scenario, you need to change the method used to GET and 303 See Other. To inform users you need to PUT method that is not the uploaded resources, but a confirmation message (like “You successfully uploaded ABC”).
Their no major difference between 307 and 302 – the only thing is 307 guarantees that the method and the body will not be changed at the time of redirection. Whereas in 302, some old clients were mistakenly changing the method to GET: the behavior with non – GET method and 302 is then unpredictable on the web.
11. Connection Refused by Host
This error is close to the 403 error which means the user either doesn’t have permission to operate the website or entered the wrong password.
12. DNS Lookup Problems
Most people often overlook the problems that arise from DNS misconfiguration. Both website and server maintain their own DNS cache and those cache needs to wipe out regularly.
Else, it will lead to errors with the website. The main problem happened with DNS is not changing the records, when the website address is the same.
