Accessing Terminal Interface in WHM

Today I am going to show you how to access the ‘Terminal’ interface. The Terminal interface allows you to access an in-browser terminal application for direct command-line access within a cPanel & WHM session.

This feature was added in cPanel and WHM version 72 to both cPanel and WHM. It is now easier than ever in browser terminal application to access direct command line within cPanel and WHM session.

Note: – Resellers that do not possess shell access therefore they should use cPanels’ Terminal interface through: cPanel >> Home >> Advanced >> Terminal.

Step 1 – First log in to WHM.

Steps 2 – To access this feature navigate to ‘Server configuration’.

Step 3 –Then click ‘Terminal’ interface, Navigate to the ‘Terminal’ interface. A warning message will appear if you are using it for the first time.

Step 4 – Commands that you enter in this interface whether your server is inoperable, we strongly recommend users who are expert in using this command line interface.

Step 6 – Start typing into Terminal window. Once you execute any command, the ‘Terminal’ interface will show result on the command line.

Note: –

When you end a session in the ‘Terminal’application, it terminates access to the interface’s terminal window. To open another session, click ‘Reconnect’.

Step 7 –You can access ‘Terminal’ interface from cPanel also. For that, first login to cPanel interface.

Step 8 – Then search for ‘Terminal’ interface in the search box. Again you will see same warning as in WHM, if you want to continue, then click ‘I understand and want to proceed’ button. The command line interface will open
