In continuation of our previous discussion Disk Usage {Introduction to Disk Usage in cPanel: Part4}, in this tutorial, we are going to learn about Web Disk Tool. This tool is used for creating an additional Web Disk account to manage, navigate, upload, and download the files on your web server. Web Disk account directories exist relative to your account’s home directory.
The home icon () signifies your home directory.
When you select this option, you will see the following window:
Here you can see details about your Main Web Disk Account which is your Home Directory.
At the time of creating Additional Web Disk Account :
When you click on “Create” button then you will receive a message regarding the successful creation of an additional Web Disk Account.
There is one more option provided to you for – Managing the Web Disk Accounts.
Here you are required to enter the web disk account and then you will see information regarding that account.
Account: The Web Disk account username.
Directory: The Web Disk account’s assigned directory and related actions.
Actions: Use the links in this column to perform the following actions:
Note: – When you change the usernames of Web Disk accounts that use Digest Authentication, you must re-enable it. The /etc/digestshadow file stores the usernames of Web Disk accounts that use Digest Authentication in a password hash. When you change the account username, the system removes the password from the file.
