How to login to WHM?

This is the first and series of Blogs that explain to you how login to WHM & what to do with your server after you install cPanel and WHM.

These Blogs will demonstrate commonly used settings to help you better secure your server and prepare it for reselling and hosting purposes. Your situation will probably have a few special requirements. One size does not fit all! However, a lot of these settings and interfaces are walked in through. We will be helpful to you to manage your server as time goes on.

Since you are going to need to login to WHM, let’s start with that. First, you need to know the URL your hosting provider or system administrator should provide to you when they set up your account. It’s going to start with HTTPS://  this is a secure web connection. Then your hostname followed by a colon and a number 2087 that’s the port you will connect to for secure connection.

For Ex: – https://hostname.test. com:2087

If your server is protected by a firewall you will need to open this port 2087 in order to connect to WHM.

Now your domain might not be ready in DNS. Your registrar may still point the domain to the older nameservers or you move to a new server and the DNS entries with the new IP addresses need there to propagate until DNS is ready, you can use the IP address that the site will use instead of the hostname.

For Ex: – https://1.2.3.4:2087

Create a Bookmark or shortcut to this interface so we go to the connect URL and then the WHM login interface will appear as follows:

If you need the interface to appear in another language you can select it from the bottom of the interface.

Click on the 3 dots for the long list of languages.

After you select the language to enter your username in the username text box. It’s probably going to be root but if it isn’t entering that username here. Then enter your password in the password text box.

Click Login. Here we are in the WHM home interface.

From here you can perform the tasks that you need to manage your server, whether it’s to add an account, IP address, or to configure backups. You will find those functions along the left side of the interface.

It will scroll up and down to find the function that you need or search for the function with the handy search box.

You can also collapse each category with the arrow on the right side of the category or click the category name to show icons for each of the functions.
